About Corbett Landscape Safari Zone or Sitabani

Corbett Landscape is a hard forest area, The part of Tiger Reserve, The area is favorite spot for tourist walking and is popular in the Hindu epic, named Ramayana.

 

As the myth goes, goddess Sita, wife of Lord Rama spent some days of her exile in Corbett Landscape. The entire place is protected and maintained by Archeological Survey of India (ASI). Besides the beautiful Animals, birds, Corbett Landscape is indeed fabulous spot and natural habitat for tigers, elephants, deers, sambars, barking deers, porcupines, and king cobras. The place is indeed the paradise for bird watchers and there is an ashram where tourists can take the rest for a while.

Whole of forest area in Landscape is open round the year for Safari tour and there is absolutely no limit of vehicles entering the area. Corbett national park authority will not offer the permit for the entry into zone. Forest department makes provides the permit for jeep safari. Corbett Landscape forest zone also has popular temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. There is shallow brooks flowing through the Landscape, and it offers enjoyable retreat to the tourists to get through. Tourists can also catch fishes and get all excited about angling. It would indeed be a great idea to take tour to Landscape and get a real time glimpse. Since you can easily take a walk through the Landscape, it would become a memorable adventure time of your life.

Corbett Landscape is one of prominent zones which are always full with tourists. Most of the tourists entering Corbett Landscape Jeep Safari zone are avid bird watchers. They have fair inkling to watch birds and the best part is that there are plenty of birds to watch around all through the season. Tourists can also take the glimpse of vultures, which have almost disappeared in the cities and towns.

Prohibitions in Landscape
Alcohol and non-vegetarian food not allowed. All your personal and non-biodegradable remains like tin cans, plastic, glass bottles, metal foils etc. should be put into a carry bag and you should dispose it off after you finish the tour. This is to keep the National Park climes and animals safe.
Tourists should check out the timings of the Jhirna Jeep safari as these keep changing during the summer and the winter.

Ramnagar is perhaps the best approach to the Corbett National Park which forms the headquarters of CTR. This small city is well connected by road and rail network with major cities of India like Delhi, Moradabad, Nainital and Bareilly. Once you reach Ramnagar, then it takes only half an hour to reach Corbett National Park. The park is around 15 Kms from Ramnagar railway station.

By Road: Ramnagar has a very good network of road that connects the different cities. The Corbett National Park is situated at an approximate surface distance of 260 Kilometer from India’s national capital Delhi. The state government of Uttarakhand plies buses at a short interval of time from Delhi, Moradabad, Haldawani, and Nainital that reaches Corbett directly.

By Rail: The railway station in Ramnagar receives trains from different major cities of India like Delhi, Moradabad and Bareilly. A direct train to Ramnagar runs from Delhi. You can check out for Ranikhet Express, Corbett Link Express and Kathgodam Express that takes you directly to Ramnagar.

  • Delhi: Delhi – Moradabad – Kashipur – Ramnagar (260 Kms)
  • Nainital: Via Kaladhungi to Ramnagar (62 Kms)
  • Lucknow: Lucknow – Bareilly – Kicha – Rudrapur – Kashipur – Ramnagar (436 km)
  • Dehradun : Dehradun – Ramnagar (232 km)
